In the beginning of the film Bella's hairstyle is sort of fairy-tale looking, curly and girlish giving the opening a happy and optimistic atmosphere.
As a sign that she's committed to Edward, Bella wears clothes that are linked to him, color-wise. (grays, purples, blues)
When Edward leaves her clothes change into moodier, darker clothing.
Her hair and clothes develop an unkept appearance. 
As Jacob helps her come out of her depression, her freshly blossoming spirit is shown in her costumes with brighter colors and springtime shirts with short sleeves. "Happier" clothing, as the costume designer calls it.
As Bella comes out of her depression her hair changes again and becomes more relaxed in a carefree wave.
And can I just say I'm in love with that sweater hoodie? I seriously want one. :)
