Queen of Hearts Costume Analysis by Ginger

I just found an amazing costume analysis on the Queen of Hearts costume from Alice in Wonderland.
Check out Ginger's post.
Saved me a lot of figuring out. :)
She also has an analysis on the White Queen's costume.
I can hardly wait to start this project!

  1. I have already started working on this project by just looking at the poster. I found that the best way to construct this version of the dress so that the detail of the stockings, tulle, lace and boots is to hem the skirt so that the front is at the knees and the remainder circles down fully down to the ankles. I found the stocking are made by Leg Avenue and unless you are an EXCELLENT corset maker no amount of boning can give you the shape in the pictures so you will need to invest in a real one to wear underneath. REALLY it saved me hours of work because I tried boning the top myself at first and the shape wouldn't hold all the velvet no matter what I did. There is also a satin ball gown in the movie I haven't seen a good picture of and I can't WAIT to get a good look at that one so I can make it :D Hope the suggestions help...Here is a crappy picture of the ball gown...http://farm1.static.flickr.com/164/406221261_b9193df9a5.jpg?v=0
