The Willow Nest Photo Shoot

I have been super busy the past couple months, working on winter stuff for my shop and I was able to do a fun photo shoot with a friend while she was here with some of my items! (so much easier then taking pictures of things on myself!) We had a lot of fun going to the park, drinking Starbucks  and eating pumpkin bread. I think we need to live in the same town and make this a regular habit! ;)

I hope you're staying cozy!

Urban Renewal

I've been busily making gloves and finishing up tags the past few days to take down to this lovely shop in downtown Grants Pass, Oregon. It's such a satisfying feeling to have them all neat and ready to go with little descriptions on the back of each tag.

My friend Aimee from Pretty Wit helped me design these tags...aren't they awesome? I love that elephant so much.
So far I have 8 pairs down there...I nearly cleaned out my etsy shop so tomorrow it's all about getting my shop back up and going. :)
If your ever in Grants Pass, be sure to check out Urban Renewal! It's a really awesome shop, I end up buying something every time I go in there...

Fabric :)

As I'm cleaning up my sewing room along with parting with a few patterns I'm putting a bit of fabric in my shop as I don't have room or time for everything on my shelves. I only have two pieces in there at the moment but I will be adding a few more over the week.

Pemberley Couture Goes to Town

Well, I finally took the plunge and brought my fingerless gloves into town and they are now available in a store! I forgot to take pictures of all the new ones I made over the weekend but I made some really cool ones. And I just stocked up on yarn so there will be more to come!
If you live near Bend, Oregon stop by Rescue Consignment shop, across from Newport Market! It's such a treasure trove and it's your chance to find a Pemberley Couture original. ;) My sister also makes some amazing duck tape wallets that are available there. Not to mention all the other amazing handmade things and amazing second hand clothes.
I've taken all my gloves out of my shop for now as they're all in the town shop but I plan to add more once I make some. :)
Hope you all have a fabulous weekend!

Pattern De-Stash

I went through my patterns today and found a pile that I either have duplicates of or don't think I'll ever get around to making. I've listed a few in the SHOP. More to come over the next few days!

Repurposed Sweater

I had this sweater in my closet which doesn't fit me, but I always felt was rather plain.
I decided to give it a second life so I added a dash of vintage shell buttons and vintage lace:

Just a peek at the results:

Market Bag #2 Chocolate Mint

I just finished my second market bag for my shop today. I love this one! I'm a big fan of blue and I just love this fabric:
It's revisable so the outside is this floral print with a vintage button:

The other side is a watery petal print with a wood button.
Two bags in one! I just love that. :)

Market Bag #1 Rasberry Mocha

I've been inspired lately by the Summer weather and the Farmer's Market to make some bags for my shop. Here is the first:
I made it reversable so you can change your bag with your mood:

This market bag is available in my SHOP.

The Black Piper Cherry Cluster Button Up Shirt

I've been digging out my old projects and trying to finish them. One of the projects that has been waiting completion is this shirt:
I started it (*blushes*) way back before I went to England and didn't get it done in time. This was originally going to be for me but it took me so long to finish it doesn't fit me any more so it is now in my shop. I just love it though. :)

Marie Antoinette Fingerless Mitts

I made these while watching Little Dorrit last night. (which in my opinion, keeps getting better and better!) They made me think of Marie Antoinette's Pink and Yellow gown.
They're now in the SHOP! :)

A Satisfying Day :)

I've been busy busy sewing all day and feel quite satisfied. :) I've got a few lovely things to put in my Etsy Shop tomorrow, so check back to see what they are! I've taken a little break from historic costumes and I've been making a bit more useful things for today...but still pretty, I think. ;)

I've also got "hooked" on crocheting again. I haven't crocheted much in years, except the fingerless gloves I made this winter, but now we've started crocheting every week with the lady who taught us how and now I can't stop. I'm on my second doily and now I've started this cardigan:
Oh well...it's fun! :)

Here's a sneak peek at one of the things I was up to today....
The best thing to do while sewing all day is to drink lots of tea and listen to Roald Dahl books on CD. I listened to most of James and the Giant Peach today...brilliant. :) He's one of the most clever authors.
Well, I'm off to bed...home all day tomorrow, hopefully I'll get heaps of more sewing done! And more lovely sewing time with friends on Friday! Whoo hoo...it shall be a fantastical week! :)
(Alright...perhaps I've had a wee bit of too much tea?) ;)

SPRING SALE!!!!

I'm having a big sale over in my Etsy Shop! Almost everything is on sale now through March 31! Go check it out and ENJOY!

Happy Spring! :)

Jane Bennet Short Jacket

I've been busy working on a custom order for a Jane Bennet jacket only shorter so it can be worn nicely as modern wear.
I got the top stitching done last week and sewed the rest of the bodice together today.
I'm loving the 100% linen. :)
It lays so nicely. In these pictures it's all pressed, but I think I love it when it's fresh out of the dryer and has a wavy wrinkle to it. (I'm just weird that way)
Alright...I'm off to sew some more. Just wanted to show you all I am indeed still sewing. Just not blogging as much this week. :)

A Peek...

...at what I made while you weren't looking. ;)
More pictures HERE.
My wonky lil sketch:
And the nicest button hole I think I've made yet (I'm horrid with button holes!):

Disclaimer:

Although I continually talk about movie costumes on this blog, I am not a movie reviewer. Not all the films I discuss are recommended and I do not choose to review weather they are appropriate or not for the simple fact that every person's standards are different. Something that is fine for me may be offensive to some one else and visa versa. If you would like to look into the appropriateness of a title, I recommend pluggedinonline.com. I have not seen all the movies I discuss, and am simply interested in the art of clothes in film. I will leave you to decide for yourself if you will watch the movie or not.
