Once I finish my Elizabeth Swann stays and also make some panniers I wanted to one day make this dress. I always thought it would have to be way into the future when I had $100 or more to spend on fabric.

Although I continually talk about movie costumes on this blog, I am not a movie reviewer. Not all the films I discuss are recommended and I do not choose to review weather they are appropriate or not for the simple fact that every person's standards are different. Something that is fine for me may be offensive to some one else and visa versa. If you would like to look into the appropriateness of a title, I recommend pluggedinonline.com. I have not seen all the movies I discuss, and am simply interested in the art of clothes in film. I will leave you to decide for yourself if you will watch the movie or not.
I cannot believe how perfect it is....
ReplyDeleteLove you and miss you! It's weird you not living here anymore.... :( Let's get together and read some more Emma!

its perfect!!!!
ReplyDeleteI love the fabric and what a great price! I love to read your blog and all the great sewing projects you work on. My family re-enacts the years between 1750-1812, so you are always an inspiration to me to get back to my sewing. Your clothing always looks so nice. I can't wait to see how this dress turns out. I always love when I can get a good deal on fabric. I have 3 girls to make dresses for, so I am always on the look out for good stuff. Good luck on all your projects.
ReplyDeleteOh, that fabric is amazingly perfect! I love Colonial fashion, and Elizabeth's dresses are so gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteGasp! That is SO exciting! It looks like it will be perfect for the project!
ReplyDeleteI had something like that happen to me today too! I've been wanting to make a black velvet spencer jacket like the one Lizzie wears in the '95 Pride & Prejudice, but velvet was so expensive so I thought it would be a while yet...
and then I went to *whispers* Wal Mart today, and it had just what I wanted for a mere $5.95 a yard!!! :-O I'm so excited! :-)
Gorgeous, and just right for the task (and way to go on the bargain!) It was meant to be.
ReplyDeletehow fun! Don't you love it when God puts stuff like that in your lap. :)
