I needed a little inspiration to work on my Maid Marian dress, so I was looking for pictures, and ran across this close up of her beading. I wish I had found this before I started the beading on my dress! Oh well I still like mine...but someday maybe I will make a more detailed neckline. I think hers is so pretty!
I got some new knitting gadgets in the mail the other day so I am distracted by those but I'm really going to try to get some work done on this dress this week! Maybe I can finish it before the end of the month!? All except some beading that will have to wait for my mom to bring my beads in May.
I already have ideas floating around my head for more costumes so I can't wait to finish this one!

My husband and I recently started watching the TV series Merlin and although at first I wasn't too into it (I don't like the creepy parts) I'm sort of hooked now and can't wait to see what happens next. The characters are growing on me as well, not to mention the costumes are really awesome! It's also interesting to watch the story of King Arthur through Merlin's eyes while they are still young and before Arthur is king. It's an interesting take on the story.

The girls costumes are so pretty! I love Morgana's wardrobe, and this costume is amazing:

I also really like Gwen! She is so sweet!
And how pretty is this?

I am enjoying watching it in the evenings while I work on my knitting and Britton is there to tell me when not to look for the creepy parts. (or fast forward through spiders...yuck) But overall it's fun to have a series to watch together with costumes and fun characters! I feel so behind on this, I just realized it's been around since 2008 and there are five seasons of it! Where have I been!?
Have any of you seen it? What do you think about it?

Maid Marian Progress

My Maid Marian dress is finally coming together! I attached the collar today while watching an episode of Robin Hood for inspiration. But I realized I left the beads to finish the beading at my parents house in I may have to wait a little while before I finish that part, but it can be added after the dress is completed so it wont hold me up!
I did much more simple beading than on Marian's dress since for this particular project I didn't want to invest that much time in it. But I think it still looks okay.
 Pinned down:
 All done being stitched on:
Also yesterday I attached the sleeves, yay! It's getting so close! Just need to do some seam finishing on the inside, eyelets down the back and hem it and I think it's nearly done! Unless I decide to make a beaded belt....still not sure about that yet. to watch more Robin Hood and do some more stitching!

What about all of you? What have you finished up this month? Share a link below! I am always so inspired by what everyone else is making! Thank you to those of you who have participated in the last few months! ♥Anna Kristine

Although I continually talk about movie costumes on this blog, I am not a movie reviewer. Not all the films I discuss are recommended and I do not choose to review weather they are appropriate or not for the simple fact that every person's standards are different. Something that is fine for me may be offensive to some one else and visa versa. If you would like to look into the appropriateness of a title, I recommend I have not seen all the movies I discuss, and am simply interested in the art of clothes in film. I will leave you to decide for yourself if you will watch the movie or not.
