My husband and I recently started watching the TV series Merlin and although at first I wasn't too into it (I don't like the creepy parts) I'm sort of hooked now and can't wait to see what happens next. The characters are growing on me as well, not to mention the costumes are really awesome! It's also interesting to watch the story of King Arthur through Merlin's eyes while they are still young and before Arthur is king. It's an interesting take on the story.

The girls costumes are so pretty! I love Morgana's wardrobe, and this costume is amazing:

I also really like Gwen! She is so sweet!
And how pretty is this?

I am enjoying watching it in the evenings while I work on my knitting and Britton is there to tell me when not to look for the creepy parts. (or fast forward through spiders...yuck) But overall it's fun to have a series to watch together with costumes and fun characters! I feel so behind on this, I just realized it's been around since 2008 and there are five seasons of it! Where have I been!?
Have any of you seen it? What do you think about it?

  1. Merlin is one of my favourite TV series!

  2. Merlin is definitely one of my favorites! It is so well done and really funny!

I made a morgana cape for my sister :)

  3. I've never seen the show, but as one who is (ahem) well-endowed I can't help but think about how uncomfortable Morgana's costume would be. :s

    1. Yes I agree is does look uncomfortable! I probably wouldn't like wearing it but it sure is cool to look at. :)

  4. If you look carefully some costumes have a lot of details. Some people may never saw or like the serie but it's impossible to not like the costumes .I start watching the serie only a few weeks ago .

    1. Yes I have noticed! The costume I am particularly drawn to is Gwen's embroidered corset/vest, all the embroidery on it is amazing up close! I really would love to make a replica of it one day. :)

Although I continually talk about movie costumes on this blog, I am not a movie reviewer. Not all the films I discuss are recommended and I do not choose to review weather they are appropriate or not for the simple fact that every person's standards are different. Something that is fine for me may be offensive to some one else and visa versa. If you would like to look into the appropriateness of a title, I recommend I have not seen all the movies I discuss, and am simply interested in the art of clothes in film. I will leave you to decide for yourself if you will watch the movie or not.
