Fall Layers

When the weather gets chilly, I just can't say goodbye to my short sleeved shirts and dresses. I love layering long sleeves underneath my short sleeved things. :)
Here are some really cute examples from TOAST.

Scarfs

I love love love scarfs...and I don't see why one should stop wearing scarfs simply because it is Summer. Here are some lovelies from TOAST which have got me all inspired. They're nice and light and airy. :) Perfect for that escape to the seaside this Summer. :)

Mmm...aren't they yummy? I really want to make some scarfs for my SHOP one of these days. And for me. Maybe me more than my shop. ;)
Anyway....sorry I haven't been posting much this week. It's been a bit crazy and I'm still working on the Robin Hood finale. :) I've been a bit lazy about it...but it is coming I promise.

The Black Piper Cherry Cluster Button Up Shirt

I've been digging out my old projects and trying to finish them. One of the projects that has been waiting completion is this shirt:
I started it (*blushes*) way back before I went to England and didn't get it done in time. This was originally going to be for me but it took me so long to finish it doesn't fit me any more so it is now in my shop. I just love it though. :)

Monster In Law Fashion

It's not very often that I watch a 21st century film that I stop and go, 'I want to wear that' when the actress appears on the screen. But in Monster In Law...I fell for Jennifer Lopez's colorful style. I love the bright colors and how she always has some kind of flowers or something in her hair.

This poncho is super cute:
Don't you love this summery eyelet
skirt with her colorful t-shirt?
I love this wrap around dress/tunic/shirt, the colors are amazing. I think she's wearing it over jeans. I'd probably make the neckline higher or wear something underneath...bit too plunging for me. But it's still super cute:
I love this pink dress:
Another really cute dress (might be a shirt, I need to watch the movie again to see for sure)
I love all the flowers in her hair. :)
She's even cute in her hoodie and sweats:
Jenalyn's Creations on Etsy made a really cute replica of one of the necklaces she wears. Check it out HERE. (she's currently on vacation but will be back!)
There. Maybe that will inspire me to go make something summery today. :)

Lovely Clothes

I've been sewing things for my shop all day and I'm sooo excited about what I've made! But you'll have to wait to see just a little while longer.
In the meantime...how amazing is this shirt? I think it's from Anthropologie since I typed in "Anthroplogie clothes" in my google image search and this was one of the things that came up.
Aren't the yo-yo's lush? :)
I also came across all these lovely dresses....
I'm staying home the rest of the week to sew sew sew like crazy and finish up some projects for my shop as well as make some Christmas presents. I've got some fun ideas up my sleeve...but I can't post them until after Christmas as they must be a suprise to those getting them. But I promise pictures after Christmas. :)

Audrey Hepburn: Always In Style

Whenever I am unsure of what to buy, seeing how styles come and go so quickly and I like to buy things I can wear awhile, I think of Audrey Hepburn and know something along the lines of her style will do. She had the most fabulous style ever in my opinion. And it seems to never stop being in style.
Lovely for a light and carefree day:

Recently In Style magazine featured Natalie Portman which reminded me quite a lot of Audrey Hepburn.
I just adore this outfit, and Natalie is as darling as Audrey herself. :)

Some things just don't go out of style. Like having fun. :)

Disclaimer:

Although I continually talk about movie costumes on this blog, I am not a movie reviewer. Not all the films I discuss are recommended and I do not choose to review weather they are appropriate or not for the simple fact that every person's standards are different. Something that is fine for me may be offensive to some one else and visa versa. If you would like to look into the appropriateness of a title, I recommend pluggedinonline.com. I have not seen all the movies I discuss, and am simply interested in the art of clothes in film. I will leave you to decide for yourself if you will watch the movie or not.
